Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is a wonderful short trek in the territory of the Annapurna Conservation Area in Nepal. For the Jomsom Muktinath trek you take six-hour, scenic drive through the mountains from Kathmandu to Pokhara. After one night’s stay in Pokhara, we will take a 25-minute flight to Jomsom, Known as the forbidden kingdom in Nepal it is the gateway to Muktinath and Upper Mustang. Soon after arriving at the airport we will begin our trek towards Kagbeni, a medieval looking Tibetan village.
The Jomsom Muktinath Trekking trail goes alongside the Kaligandaki River, where you will spend a night at the local lodge/ hotel at Kagbeni. The next morning you move up to Muktinath. Muktinath is a holy pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. In Muktinath you will see Tibetan traders and Sadhus (holy men) from as distant as the south of India. Here you visit the grand Muktinath Temple, shrines of various enshrined Gods and Goddess’, refreshing springs and a natural gas spot. Leaving Muktinath you retrace your steps to Jomsom., with a return flight to Pokhara

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is moderate trek. This trek is suitable for trekkers who have ability to walk at least 5-7 hours a day. Activities such as jogging and regular exercise for couple of months before this trek would be beneficial for the physical fitness required for this trek, as you will be trekking in high altitudes. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip.
Best Time for Jomsom Muktinath Trekking
The best seasons for doing this trek are Spring (March to May) and Autumn (mid-September to mid-December). In these seasons you will be rewarded with good weather, sunny and warm with clear skies and outstanding views. You can trek in winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) also, however snowfall and cold weather in higher elevations could cause difficulties.
